How We Improved Our Dual Angle Sanding Blocks

We all know the old saying: “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.” And, as most drywall finishers would tell you, there was nothing broke about Trim-Tex’s popular sanding blocks. But we don’t like to settle for “good enough” — Trim-Tex is committed to constant improvement, constant innovation, and we saw an opportunity to make the 885 sanding sponges our customers love even better.

Here’s how we improved our Dual Angle Sanding Blocks to make them better than ever, with some help from our friends at Refresh Home Improvements. And be sure to request a free sample block while you’re here — they won’t last much longer!

So, what’s different about your new sanding blocks?

We have changed many aspects of the 885 Dual Angle Dual Grit Sanding Block. It now lasts longer and requires less effort to use — so you can sand smarter, not harder! However, many other aspects about the block, including its grit, size and shape, all remain the same.

Here’s a more technical answer: on the medium-grit side of the block, we’re now using a new silicon carbide for faster cutting with less loading. Then, we’ve also included a brown fused aluminum oxide, used for finer sanding and a better bonding method for the abrasive.

How do I know these new blocks are actually better than before?

Trim-Tex has rigorously tested our new sanding sponges — for durability, for consistency, for efficiency — and have found them to be a significant improvement in every way. If you’ve been a long-time Dual Angle Sanding Block user, we encourage you to make the switch to these new abrasives. Once you get adjusted to the improved style of sanding (again, you may need to apply less pressure when sanding than you’re used to), we highly doubt you’ll ever want to go back!

But you don’t need to take our word for it here — we are so confident in the improvements we’ve made that, for a limited time, we’re giving our followers a chance to try out the new Dual Angle Dual Grit Sanding Blocks for free. Just hit the button below to request your free block now!
